Magic Beans ("the system") is a private, operator-run automated trading tool. This policy explains what information the system collects about its account holder(s) and how that information is used, with particular detail on SMS text-message notifications.

Information we collect

Magic Beans collects only what an operator enters directly into the system's own Settings pages: a login username and password, a notification email address, and - if SMS notifications are turned on - a mobile phone number. The system also stores brokerage account activity (orders, positions, trade history) retrieved from the operator's own connected Etrade account in order to make and record trading decisions.

We do not collect information from any source other than the operator's own account configuration and their own connected brokerage account.

How we use your information

Your email address and mobile phone number are used solely to deliver account notifications you have configured - for example, trade confirmations, end-of-day summaries, and connection-status alerts. Your Etrade account data is used solely to evaluate and execute the trading rules you have configured for your own account.

SMS / text message program

If you provide a mobile phone number and enable SMS notifications, Magic Beans will send you text messages about your own trading account - for example, when a trade is placed or filled, a pre-market connection reminder, or market open/close notices.

• No sharing or selling of mobile numbers. We do not share, sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your mobile phone number to any third party for marketing or any other purpose. Your number is used only to deliver the notifications you configured, and is passed only to our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) solely for that purpose.
• Message frequency varies. The number of messages you receive depends on your own trading activity and which notification types you have enabled - this can range from zero messages on a day with no trades to several messages during an active trading session.
• Message and data rates may apply. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply to messages we send you.
• Consent and opt-out. You opt in to SMS notifications yourself, by entering your mobile number and enabling the SMS toggle(s) on the Settings page. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by disabling SMS notifications on the Settings page. Reply HELP to any message for assistance. Data retention and security

Notification content and trading records are retained for as long as your account remains active, so history and reporting features keep working. The system runs on infrastructure controlled by the operator and is not exposed to the public internet without authentication.

Third-party services

Magic Beans uses the following third-party services strictly to deliver the functionality you configure: Etrade (brokerage connectivity), Postmark (email delivery), and Twilio (SMS delivery). Each of these providers processes only the data necessary to perform its function and is not authorized to use your information for any other purpose.
